I am in the process of installing an Autopage Remote Starter in my Ford F150.  I have all my wires connected.  What I am having trouble with is when I use the key to start my truck, as I progress through turning the key to start, when I get to the run position, I trigger the "windshield clean" cycle on the truck (i.e. I get a slight spray from the washers, and the wipers wipe three times).  I have no problems starting the truck, and this event only occurs once.

Here is where I am at and what I have checked:

1. I have rechecked the wiring and I believe it to be OK.

2. I have not tried remote start the truck (I am a bit hesistant at this point).

3. If I kill power to the alarm, then this does not occur.

4. I cut the connection to the accesories wire, and this still occurs.

5. The only thing I would say I have done unusual with this install, is that am powering everything from a powerwire I brought in directly from the battery.

6. I have installed remote starters before.  This is my first Autopage and first time installing in a Ford.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Problem solved.  Ford uses the same wire color for the windshield wash sequence as the door unlock.  They also happen to be located near each other.  Good time... good times...

Much thanks to everyone on here, I have spent a bit of time reading the posts, and it has helped me out tremendoulsy.

unbelievable that people do not test wires before hooking them up.    You got lucky you didn't burn up a BCM or something by not testing.

Sadly you are correct I didn't test all my wires.  I got a bit cooky and I am fortunate that I did kill something.  :( hopefullt others will note this and learn from my mistakes!
