well i got it going on tuesday just wanted to thank everyone who help me out. Boy do i feel dumb. when i measured the key it measured 597 so i used a resistor close to this but the promblem was the resistence was actually 5.97 oh well sometimes you learn the hard way but at least i know how to do the next one.
