hi everyone

i am hoping you can help me with a couple of questions. i am now looking at getting at getting the autopage 1000 instead of the viper 5900, i did not think that the autopage was as good quality but after reading what a few of you guys have written i now know that they are just as good (is this correct).

the things i am stuck on are whether or not the autopage is compatible with the manual gearbox on the autostart or will i need one of the dei manual start modules?

also does the autopage have a few different alarm tones(such as viper`s 6 tones) or do they just have the one. i can`t seem to see it anywhere on there site. the alarm is going on the birds car and she loves gimicky things which is why i think this alarm and the remote will suit her better than the viper. i hope i am making the right choice in the end.

i look forward to reading any of your replies.

thanks

steve

The rs-1000 is quite a capable unit. I have a prototype C3 unit that is in final testing right now, and should be available within the next 60 days. It is exactly the same as the current one, with the telematics upgrade to the data port.

siren sounds only depend on the siren itself. usually all sirens have 6 tones to them anyways. unless you got a DEI mp3 one, or the clifford sirens.

i have the the viper 5900 on my lexus and i recently installed the autopage rs-1000 into my infiniti. the range on the autopage is better, but the viper has programmable features. they both are great units but the color screen on the autopage is cool. forgot to mention that the viper remote suck up battery like crazy; i have to change my battery every month.

autopage are very nice units IMO, howver i see that they arent programmable as other units, and the remote buttons are hard to get to if you got big fingers ! other than that, good stuff.
