hi!

i have a car (Golf 1994) which has an OBDII connector (16 pins) but under the hood is written that this cas is OBDI certified. my question is that if i can use an OBDII scan tool to diagnose the car, because i want to buy one and i'm not sure if will work.

the second problem is that i want to buy a VAG-1551/1552 scan tool but i don't know where i can find it.

thanks for your pacience reading my post

Good luck trying to purchase a VAG-1552, but you could always buy a VAG-COM Form Ross-tech. It's a PC based Scanning tool.

ok...VW been using the same diagnostics link connector all along. in 1995 gov't made vw actually switch over to obd-2, and it so happened to be the same type of connector. so your 94 golf is actually an obd-1 but all the connectors are same throughtout the years. and about the vag 1552, thats a dealership item. pretty costly too. vw does have a newer scan tool called the VAG-5052, its a portable laptop kinda thing. really neat, and it allows u to monitor everything, all sensors, exhaust flow, oil pressure, everything...u name it, and its got it. pretty costly too. and incase your wondering how would i know...i work at volks wagen. give me an email if u need further help or got any other question. princexstfu@yahoo.com
