I am wiring a Remote Starter unit to a new 2003 Chevrolet S-10 with a 4.3 Liter Vortec V-6 engine and cruise control option.

What I am needing to know is if the wiring of this truck has the same color codes as the 2000 S-10.

I also need to run a 13.8 V. hot lead directly from the Battery + terminal thru the firewall ( or around it if possible ) to the rear area in the extended cab to feed in 60 Amps. of current so what is the smallest wire gauge to use without giving any voltage drop.

Thanks.

Voltage Drop = current flow * (length of wire in feet * resistance per foot)
ga.   ohms per foot
0    0.00009921
1    0.00012500
2    0.00015749
3   0.00019843
4   0.00025000
5   0.00031498
6   0.00039685
7   0.00050000
8   0.00062996
9   0.00079370
10 0.00100000
if you use 15 feet, 4 ga will be your best bet, 8 ga will give you 1/2 a volt loss....if you could find 5,6,7 ga good luck... hope it helps
