The violet/brown mux wire does not need to be cut. Also, you should be connecting the violet/white from the XK532 to the mux; the violet from the XK532 should go to the WHITE/ orange data wire at the SKIM module.

Getting to that SKIM module is difficult because of its location, but I followed the harness down to an easier location to tap into the WHITE/ orange data wire. Another problem about this violet/brown wire, maybe i'm a lil color blind, but i see a what looks like a violet/orange wire in the ignition harness, not a violet/brown.

Meter the wire; it should show voltage without the key inserted, and the voltage reading should decrease with each step as you:
1. Insert the key.
2. Turn to run position.
3. Turn to crank position.

Ok, i will try that. Now I have another problem; I hooked up the horn wire for the alarm at the horn under the hood like the wiring diagram for this vehicle said, but the horn doesnt honk when the alarm is triggered. I double and triple checked my connection and I get a reading when I test the connection with my meter. But the horn doesnt work on this car unless the key is in the acc. or on position.

My info says horn is dk. GREEN/ orange (+) at the horns themselves under the hood as well...are you using a relay to connect to the horn wire there?

you should use a relay.

85 - negative horn trigger from unit

86 - constant 12v
87 - constant 12v
30 - to horn wire on car

you must go into programming and set the horn option so when the alarm is triggered, both the horn AND siren will wail.
