I just installed a 530t in my 99 silverado. Everything works great while the truck is running. One touch up and down works on both windows. However, the windows sometimes down't roll all the way up if the truck is not running. They always roll all the way down. It seems like they are not getting enough power. Any suggestions?

Did you use large enough wire? What size did you use?

I used 16 ga wire running into each door and 16 ga power and ground.

That might be a bit small, you might want to see what others say. I dragged wires into each door (quite a distance), and used something bigger than that (can't remember what though...it was a while back). Maybe 10 gauge?

I found where DEI recommends replacing two resistors on the circuit board to add two more dipswitch settings. I've done this on older 530t's and it worked. However, the circuit boards they show on the page don't match the unit I have. Does anybody know if there is a modification that can be done to this unit?

First thing that I would do is to redo my ground. Also the resistors are built into the new 530t's just so you know.

I just redid the ground and power connnections. I even made 3 separate grounds, but no difference. Thanks.

Do you have an older unit...or a newer one? I guess with the newer ones, youdon't have to do anything to the circuit boards.
Still, the only thing I can suggest is the wire size, althought that might not be the culprit. You could do it temporarily with one door, and see what happens I guess.

I have a new one and an old one. I replaced the resistors in the old one and it works much better. It works almost all the time when the truck is running now (both directions, both windows). Sometimes the driver window stops when going up if truck is not running. I'm going to go in and lubricate the window regulator. If that doesn't do anything, I'm going to put a slightly larger resistor in the old one. This may damage the unit, but I want it to work right or I don't want it at all. By the way the old one, after modification, works much better than the new one.
