I am tring to install a pkg5 bypass unit in a 01 Aztek. The remote starter is a Bulldog rsa/202e. The car will remote start with the key in the ingition, but does not respond with the key removed. I have the pkg5 wired as followed in the instructions. Black from module to a black with white tracer in the car. Orange bypass to orange in car. violet bypass to violet. The brown output from bypass to RED / black "factory alarm shutdown" to remote start unit.

The brown from the pkg5 goes to a ground out when running from your starter. You are using a factory alarm shutdown, which is designed for disarming a factory alarm, not a factory immobilizer. Factory alarm disarm (shutdown) outputs are typically only a pulsed output. What you need is a constant ground output only when the RS is running. I dont see one in the install manual, but there has to be one. If not, then you will need to use a relay to create this using an ignition output as the trigger.

The BROWN wire on the PKG5 has to go to the wire that grounds out when running. This wire has to have a (-) current on it for the full duration that the remote starter is engaged and it MUST disengage when the take over procedure of the driver is started. The RED / BLACK wire that you have is only a pulsed (-) and will not work.

On the unit I have has two plug in harnesses on with 18 pins and one with three wires. the three wire harness goes to the relays. The middle wire is a white wire that is called the ingition ground he said. It is only grounded during the time the remote is working. Tested it and the unit works great now thank again..
