Hi All, during this spring break, I though I played around with my college car a bit. I bought an LCD remote start called made by KCJS off ebay. I know its cheap stuff, but my car is old and this is just for fun. The problem is that the car would starts up and then shut off after 2 or 3 seconds.
The diagram for installation is also weird. Instead of cutting the starter wire for the starter relay, it says to cut off the ON , i assumed the ignition coil. I'm having a bit of a problem, if anyone can shed some light on this, it would be great.
My car is honda accord 88. If anyone knows the wire diagram, please let me know. I can draw out the manual installation manual for guidance if anyone has time to help .
Thanks a million.

Hi all, could this be related to not connecting the tach cable? I cannot find that cable. I went to the coil, and there were two bluish cable. I try to measure the voltage and it was like 12 something volt. I pressed the gas, and it decreases the volt, so I'm confused if I got the right cable. Can somebody tell me where it is? The ignition coil is where this little cable goes to the engine to disperse the sparks right? I'm confused where that is at.

My car is HONDA ACCORD LX 88. I need help finding the tach cable please.

were you measuring the tach in AC volts?
It should be a blue wire at a 2 pin plug at the distributor.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I didn't measured it in AC volt, but using the 9V battery tester. Can this work? I have the multimeter from craftsman, which AC specify area should I used? Also, have you guys ever heard of a starter relay cutting off the ignition coil, instead of the starter wire? Does this makes any sense?

If you've got the $115 alarm/remotestart/pager setup sold by kcjs, then it does not have a tach input. You instead connect the "tach wire" to the alternator charge indicator bulb on the dash.
And yes, for liability reasons it is very uncommon to find a car alarm in the US market with an output that will kill the ignition & fuel delvivery systems. But you can also use that output to drive a starter kill relay instead.

Thanks the diagram. So this car doesn't have Air Condition wire? That's odd, just Accessories. The alarm I got is the 67is? dollars, not the 2 way pager. It has an starter sensing input, so I assumed its the tach cable.
Question : You mentioned there's a trunk release cable, If I were to connect this to the alarm, since it has a trunk release function, will it work? Or do I need buy an optional junk release kit?

The blue/white wire in the ignition switch harness powers the blower motor, the yellow/black powers the blend door. The wire for the alternator charge indicator is WHITE/ blue.
To make sure that we're talking about the same unit, what's the fcc id # stamped onto the back of the remote.

Hey 2vmodular, thanks for the reply. I don't have the unit in front of me , or the manual, but the auction link is :

http:///.com/dll?ViewItem&item=3009451523

This unit has a starter sensing input, ( I think this is what its called), but is that the tach cable? Also, are you familiar with this unit's starter relay using the cut off on the ignition coil , not the starter? It shows that in the manual, seems very odd...
