i stock pretty much every module known to man (just to be safe)  and my module of choice for this vehicle would definately be the idata piece with the RNG-GM3 ring.... slick and easy and no comebacks....

Got done prepping a 552t & 1701g for an install in a 07 silverado NBS and once I had everything soldered and pre-wired on the bench it looks like there are only about 7 connections in the truck. Just 12v, gnd, ign, starter wire(through relay), assy and data bus.
Does this sound right?
Looks like the 1701g handles just about everything through the data bus.

just did RS in 08 and there were only about "7 wires", 12v, starter, ign, assy, data wires, brake, park lights.
Nothing last's like the temporary.

It's the beauty of a Data-Bus system.

Having a hard time locating the immobilizer plug.
The 1701 manual says it is a green plug with a brown or yellow wire at pin 2. I can find no such green plug, I have a black plug going into the bottom of the module around the key cylinder and it does have a brown wire in the #2 position.
Is there some place else for getting this wire.
It is a 07 NBS without oem start.
Thank

Ther are two plugs on the PK3 module, one has 5 pins and one has 6. You want the 5 pin plug reguardless of color....

Thanks but where exactly is the pk3 module. Is it the one that goes around the key cylinder?
Thanks again for the quick response, have it all done except this wire.

Thanks.  This one I am thinking of is a 5pin plug but only has 4 wires in with the #2 wire being brown.

This would be the wire that the keyside goes to the org/wht on the 1701g while the other side goes to the assy wire on the starter and the starter relay.

Is there any way to test this wire to make sure it is the correct one?  Just do not want to fubar my bosses truck.

Thanks for helping with all these rookie questions, I have not been installing in a couple years and this is the first of the newer trucks I have done.

that would be the plug, and yes that is how you wire it, it shouldn't mess up the truck DEI's stuff is designed with a whole bunch of fail safe's if you need the manual:
