I would suggest using the Idatalink modules even if it means ordering another one. Unless the 1701G has changed there install guide, I think you have to cut wires under the dash. I Hate doing that ! The type 2 install on the Idata module doesn't require wires to be cut. Works awesome!

I believe that's part of the relay/resistor method that I was talking about.
