Do you know what kind of box volume the woofer would like to see?    1 Cubic Foot?  1.5 Cubic Feet?

If you use 3/4 inch material to build the box, 12 X 12 X 17.25 will be just over 1 Cubic Foot. If you need the formula for figuring it out yourself, here it is. 1 Cubic Foot = 1728 Cubic Inches. Once you figure out the height and width you want to make the enclosure, simply divide 1728 by the height, then divide that number by the width, and the number you come up with is the depth you need to build it. All measurements need to be inside dimensions. So 1728/10.5 = 164.571/10.5 = 15.673. So a box 12 X 12 X 17.173 inches is exactly 1 Cu. Ft. of internal volume.

The choices are endless, before we calculate another useless box for you, we need a little more info from you.  So you want it 8 to 10 inches deep, I need to know if you want it 8 or 10 and I also need to know either a desired height or width.  Then I can plug those 2 numbers in the directions stated above and see if I can come up with the other measurement for you.

well i would say 8 cause that would give me even more space to work with. also hight wise the max would be 14 and for the length the max is 30" .but one question would the depth make a dif in sound or it doesnt matter? thank you for all your help

The deeper the box is behind the woofer, the better it will sound.   12 x 12  x  17  deep  will sound much better than 12 x  20  x  8 deep

22.75 x 14 x 8 deep is 1 cubic foot.     1728 / 12.5 / 6.5 = 21.25

so you think that im better or with making the depth 10"instead of the 8 or just deal with a little less room and go with the 12 depth
