It could be that yellow wire. The reason I ask for this because I need the status LED to be off while the vehicle is running. That LED is annoying when I am driving with it is blinking at night in my car.

aahhhh!!! yea i see your problem now! yes you need to hook up the yellow wire to the ignition wire in the car. its also used for a starter kill, you must not have the starter kill hooked up though, which is fine if you dont want it.
