i have a 03 explorer with a code systems ca521 remote start with keyless and it does not have a horn output on the unit, it does have a 300ma ground output that i could use, but the horn is just way to loud when i use that wire. i've been told i can fix this with a resistor, but what kind of resistance value would i need to make it have the volume of lets say a factory keyless chirp?

Use this to shorten a long pulse: RELAY

Use the first diagram.

if i don't have a positive pulse wire, is there another way or should i just reverse the polarity of the pulse with a relay

In that case do all these steps:

1) Inverse the diode

2) Inverse the cap

3) Change the ground from where the cap and resitor meet and put it to a fused 12V+.

The trigger stays on the same wire but will now work in opposite polarity.

Also, if your horn trigger requires a negative activation then change the polarity of pin 87 to ground.

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.
