i have a twice used alpine 6x9 (so at the time it was not blown) and it has been sitting in my truck not being used. i just hooked it back up and the cone does not move. I lightly pressed done on the cone and it seemed that the cone was siezed it broke free and now it will crackle (it sounds like little bits of sand rubbing) and the cone will barely move but after awhile the cone will move more freely. My question is, is there something that i can either spray or use to clean out the pole area or any other ideas to save this speaker?

the voice coil came undone, your speaker is trashed.

if it is trashed why does the sound quality get better after about a half hour of constant playing?

ok, try blasting it out with canned air if it sounds like something is in there. but if the crackle sounds like it is coming from the speaker then it is probably some corrosion in the voice coil or the coil is loose and sparking in the gap.

Tell Snap and Pop to smarten up and stop playing jokes on Crackle... definitely get the speaker cleaned out. You may also have some rust that has formed on the inside due to sitting around in that environment.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

sorry about not getting back to you guys. It seems that it was alot of mineral build up in the speaker. I sprayed some wd-40 down the cone and i had it playing for 24 hours and now the cone moves just like new no problems at all.  Thanks all
