I bought a 2009 Gentex 511 mirror from an HHR that I want to install in my 2009 HHR. I have the generic plain-jane mirror with manual dimming, but does have OnStar buttons (that work). I wanted the auto-dimming feature and as a plus, the GenTex 511 has a compass. My existing mirror has the 16 pin plug, but not all wires are used.
Can I just plug in my old plug or will something start smoking? I would like a color coded pin out of a pigtail from an existing GenTex 511 installation. I know that jcc011185 and choppingXtreme did an installation, but I didn't see any wiring diagrams offered.
Anyone have an HHR that has the Gentex 511 as a factory mirror? Or a wiring diagram and/or a pinout diagram that would assist me BEFORE I burn something up?
