Hello everyone,

I have a 2001 chevy malibu with the factory double din opening.  I did have an IVA-w200 and some theives broke into my car and stole it.  They didn't take my pac databus adapter but somehow it was damaged and no longer works.  My question is this:  My car doen't have bose or onstar and I'll be running all speakers off of dedicated amps anyways.  Also, i don't care about door chimes.  Is there any reason that I can't use the plug from the adapter and just run my own 12v and acc wires to the head unit? Will anything other than door chimes not work correctly?

Retained accesory will stop working and it may throw codes and may not report correctly when needing to be diagnosed through your diagnostic plug

I would just run a wire...it will be fine...we use to do it all the time in Malibus and Grand Ams...Tap into the brown wire at the ignition switch and use a fuseholder and then you are good

I think that is what I will do for the time being anyways.  I noticed my airbag light is on.  This is probably because of this right?
