I'm installing an add on remote start unit to a 96 lumina. Could anybody give me a suggestion as to where to mount a hood pin switch? I haven't found anywhere that would work so far. Thanks.

Ok, well I got the pin switch, but there's something weird about this module or something. It has a pink wire that activates the remote start when grounded. I touched the pink wire to ground and the car started perfectly. The car has a blue wire that shows positive when the lock button is pressed on the keyless entry. I used a relay to send ground to the pink wire using this blue wire like this:
85 and 87 = ground
86 = blue wire
30 = pink wire
The relay clicks and I tested the pink wire at the remote start brain and it's getting ground when the lock button is pressed. But the car won't start. I can take the pink wire off the relay and ground it and it will start but not using the relay. I can't figure it out. Any suggestions please?

you may not be getting a strong enough ground to trigger the remote start.
what are you using as the host or main unit??
alarm, factory keyless..
i believe the RS3A is for a add on remote start.
let me know what you have and im sure we can get you up and running......
Good Luck

It's an RS3A add on remote start. I'm using the factory keyless entry in a 96 lumina.
