I have to ask and no it hasn't kept me up at night all these years but why 2 antenna triggers? Jap factory antennae always seemed to have a million wires! Surely all you needed was power ground and trigger?

That was it, there was a blue/orange wire that had no power normally, but when the head unit was powered, it switched to power. I hooked it up and it works. Thanks for the help.
