I am in the process of installing a valet 561t. It didn't come with a bypass, and I am wondering if I need one, and if so, which one?
a DEI 555f perhaps?

I am also trying to install a Avital 4003 remote start in a 2009 Ford Flex.  I think these two units are fairly similar.  You will need a bypass for the PATS (passive anti-theft system).  I was sold a DEI PKFM which pretty much plugs directly into the Avital unit with only two additional wires (data tx/data receive) needing to be hooked up.  Since your unit is also a DEI I would guess yours should plug directly in as well

By the way, assuming your wiring harnesses are the same as mine, did you use relays for the H1/1 factory alarm disarm and H1/2 factory alarm arm or the H1/9 + light flash?  my manual was a little vague about those.  And what does the H1/3 yeloow (+) ignition out (to alarm) get hooked up to?
