I hooked up a DEI hornet car alarm and am having problems with the doors not unlocking all the time. At first I thought it was the GEM turning off so I set to double pulse but I still get were it will work fine for a couple of days then just stop working.

*4 The GEM in this vehicle shuts down after the doors have been locked for a certain time period, to 'wake-up' the system refer to directfax document #1093.

I just did an alarm in my 01 Ranger and used that 1093 wake up document. I worked fine but I discovered that 45 minutes after the alarm was set I got a false trigger from the doors. The battery saver feature in the ranger cuts power 45 minutes after the doors are closed and this was causing a falsing.

Jrilla sold my alarm to me and has been an unbelievable tech support person. He referred me to the directfax document #1076 this included the original diodes in  #1093 plus two additional diodes between the GEM and the alarm splices.  I did this today and no more falsing!  Thanks Jrilla!!!!

The Ford's GEM takes power away from the door trigger wires after 30 - 45 minutes, therefore causing a false alarm. You will need to diode isolate or relay/diode isolate the foor trigger wires to prevent a false alarm.
