2008 Pontiac Vibe, Kenwood KDC-693X, Audiovox SC-C1 Sat Tuner, Kenwood KCA-SR50 Sat Adapter

If temp is below 20 deg, head unit does not see the sat tuner...it doesn't show up on the menu, if temp is 50 deg or warmer same issue, if temp is between 40 & 50 deg head unit will see sat tuner and it will show up on the menu, but the song, artist name etc..data is all garbled on the screen or I will get just one line of the data, or i get an antenna error or just the word 'waiting'..., if the temp is between 30 degs and 40 deg it works absolutely perfect!!!!!?????

My problem is since there are five pieces to this pie, the head unit, the tuner, the adapter, and the cables between the tuner/adapter and adapter/head unit, which one is failing??????

Prior to installing, my installer checked the cables to insure we had continuity.

I called Kenwood and they felt it was the head unit, i call crutchfield and they said i need to replace the tuner or adapter first...so you see my problem, which piece do i fix first...anybody out there had any similar issues....the temp fluctuations are very puzzling???

i am an idiot

Next time it gets below 20 get a blow dryer and start heating things up.  After you heat a component, wait about 5 minutes before moving to the next component.

It is probably the kenwood sirius adaptor

I would highly doubt it is the deck or the sirius tuner, I have always had issues with these things, the alpine adaptor is horrible

If you unplug everything and reset the deck I bet you it will work for a little longer
