i was wondering if anybody else had any trouble with the Massive p3000.1 amp?

i mean im a rookie, but my buddys been doin systems for a long time.....

so it was payday 3 years ago i ended up up buyin the 0 gauge and kinetic drycell spendin 300 bucks on this was crazy to me at the time...

so the next payday i went back to buy the amp 550 about three years ago to power my audiobahn eternals. this worked for about amonth til i ended up sellin that car and blew the subs.

so about a year ago being between cars and finally had a big enough trunk and afford to build a box.... so i bought one pioneer spl champion series sub for 600....this thing is a monster....2500rms 6000max compared to anything ive had....

so really i get it hooked up and only get a weeks use outta the amp, til it ends up smokin. sent it back threw the guy i bought it....and it took 10 months to get it repaired...rediculus. but i guess it was our fault because our speaker was wired at 1ohm....hence blowin the amp. which is fine...guilty as charged. 260 dollars later for a repair fee i finally get the amp back this saturday. now goin this long with out bass was painful, especially me not even to hear the pioneer broken in yet.

So i finally get the amp back saturday, wired it to 4 ohm.....turn up the music to a low 13....and it ends up smoking out. i dont get it, the guy i bought everything from said i had all i needed with the 0gauge and kinetic. was i not givin it enough juice? this is highly irrating....

but i was also wondering why massive amps dont have fuses like other amps because then it prolly would have popped them....or something....SAVING ME over 800 bucccccks. has anybody else had this problem? spendin this kind of money i feel i should be winning competitions....but here i am with no bass...still.

If an amp does not have fuses built into the amp, it is always a good idea to place an adequate sized fuse in the wire that feeds the amp.  I have repaired several of those amps, the only problem I have seen is broken legs on the Class D inductor.  They do not attach it to the board with any type of fixative.  This breaking will only cause the amp to have no output on the affected channel.  It will not cause the power supply to explode as yours has.

well...that fuse thing didnt come to me til after the amp was smoking! so i was irrated. i have a 250amp fuse from batt to kinetic....but the guy i bought all this from should have suggested. this is why i think i should get my 260 back from him....did his directions.

he amps still turns on with no problem.....still will play music until we try and turn up the gain. iive talked to a massive guy personally and he was very nice and tryin to help. he says they discontiued that amp so whenever it breaks they never see it...it goes to a repair shop. so im gonna try and at least get my $260 back. but the massive guy said he'll try and find out if he can get me a deal on a newer model amp, which im lookin and there a good amps...seem like lots of money to spend. he said he would also call back and see if i can open the amp up...and get a new motherboard repairded, he said its so much cheaper to ship amotherboard then that giangtic amp.

so the amp still gets power and bumps, until you try and turn up the gain? is this amp just ruined? or is there an easy CHEAP way i can fix it myself? thanks i appreciate the help

If smoke came out of it, chances are the power supply transistors have failed.  One amp may be OK, have you tried connecting the speaker to only one channel of the amp?  Not the outside terminals, but the 2 left or 2 right terminals?  One of the 2 channels may be working fine.

It will be as loud as a 1500.1.  That amp is actually 2 1500.1s mounted in one heat sink.  It will be 1/2 the power as the amp would be with both channels working properly.
