I have a customer with a 2000 Toyota Hilux (2.8 Diesel), which I've never even heard of before. It's a light truck not sold in the US, but is sold all over South America. I need a wiring table for installing an alarm system.
Can anybody help? Thanks!

Isn't the Hilux just a Tacoma ? If so here is the wiring for the truck. There should be silmilarities, but you should use a DMM regardless for this installation:

|       ITEM      |     WIRE COLOR     |POL|       WIRE LOCATION        |

|              12V|white               |+  |ignition harness            |
|          STARTER|black               |+  |ignition harness            |
|         IGNITION|BLACK / YELLOW        |+  |ignition harness            |
|  SECOND IGNITION|BLACK/ red           |+  |ignition harness            |
|        ACCESSORY|                    |   |                            |
|       POWER LOCK|RED / white           |-  |drivers kick panel          |
|     POWER UNLOCK|RED / yellow          |-  |drivers kick panel          |
| PARKING LIGHTS +|green               |   |bottom of fuse box          |
| PARKING LIGHTS -|RED / black           |   |white plug at column        |
|       HEADLIGHTS|red                 |-  |white plug at column        |
|     DOOR TRIGGER|BLACK/ white         |-  |top/rear of fuse box*1      |
|       TACHOMETER|black               |   |igniter or cluster *2       |
|      SPEED SENSE|GREEN/ orange        |4  |ECM behind glove box        |
|       BRAKE WIRE|GREEN / WHITE         |+  |brake switch                |
|     HORN TRIGGER|GREEN/ red           |-  |steering column             |
|           WIPERS|blu/blk - yel/blu   |+  |steering column             |
|  LF WINDOW UP/DN|blu/grn - blu/yel   |A  |drivers switch              |
|  RF WINDOW UP/DN|RED / grn - RED / blk   |A  |drivers switch or kick panel|

Notes:

*1 Two pin plug, top rear of fuse box.  *2  igniter is located on the right side of engine compartment for V6 and on the left side for the 2.4L 4 cylinder. On the 2.7L 4 cylinder it will be located at the ECM behind the glove box or at the cluster.

Thanks for your help, Jeff. I'll try to verify the Tacoma relationship when I get in there. Thanks again!
