Use a DEI 529t across the motor wires, that's assuming your R/S has an aux output.

My apologies, I read your post wrong, you will need a 530t to close and vent. Make 1 wire "timed" (not latched it's safer ) for say about 7 seconds, this will get you round the "safety trap" if there is one, the roof stops, press that aux twice, it resumes. Use another pulsed to vent and open. Does your roof tilt or tilt AND slide. I've only ever done closing, where it didn't matter.

you press the button once and it tilts then you hit it again and it opens fully. how would i go about timing the wire. or does the module do all that.

The module should do that.

I used the DEI 530t for my sunroof like howie mentioned above (unfortunately it was a few years ago and in my previous car...so I'm going by memory here). I hooked it up to my auxillary output on my alarm/remote starter. I believe I had it set to Validity output. So if I just pressed and released the button on the remote, the sunroof would vent. If I pressed and held the remote button until the sunroof started to move and then let go, it would open all the way because of the 530t's ability to do 1-touch up and down of the windows. So the sunroof would open until the 530t noticed it was open all the way, and then the 530t would turn off.
