When testing an electric switch solinoid from the ignition switch in the following manner.  A ground to ground terminal a positive to ignition terminal you can hear a click if the sonlniod is operating correctly I 'm told.  When you place your voltmeter on the top post of this solinoid that now leads to the soliniod that kicks the flywheel over what should your voltage be?

If your voltage in reads 12.5 volts then the switched side of the selonoid should read exactly the same when engaged. If there is a drop in voltage from one terminal to the other when engaged then the internal contacts or the coil windings are bad. Either way replace it if you do not see identical voltage on the line and load sides of the selenoid.
Hope this helpsElectric switch solinoids -- posted image.
