I put LED's in my headliner. I want them to go on when the dome light goes on and I also want to be able to turn them on with a switch. How can I have the LED's go on with the switch without the dome light going on? I've included 2 diagrams to explain my point. Am I wrong in thinking that the dome light will go on with the switch?

Just like your other thread - insert a diode where you want the "one-way" action. (As stated - a common 1N4004 etc should be fine. It is rated for 1A and thus handles probably up to 50 parallel (strings of) LEDs. So to will the higher numbers like IN4007 etc.)
Presumably your door switch is hot (switches +12V) - many are a single terminal switch to ground.
