I've installed window rollup both ways, with relays and with modules. And I have to admit, it was much easier with the modules, although much more expensive. I did 4 window roll up and roll down on a chevy suburban using 10 (yes ten) relays mounted inside the drivers door. It was very time consuming to wire that many relays up, but its only 10 bucks worth of relays. Otherwise I would have needed two DEI 530T window modules which retail for 70 to 100 each. They were wired up to a viper alarm with validity outputs so as lonng as the button was held they went up or down. I had it wired to 3 channels, both front windows down, both rear windows down, and all windows up. I did this on my little brothers suburban almost 3 years ago, and its still working fine to this day. I only had one initial problem though. All 4 windows going up kept blowing the fuse i had wired , even though it was a 30 amp. I wired up a 40 amp circuit breaker, and had no more problems at all.   All in all, I really wouldnt recommend using relays unless you REALLY know what your doing, AND you have an alarm with validity outputs.
