So the autolock is the only way to lock the remote? It doesn't have a button sequence to press to get it to manually lock?
Thanks
Shawn

It is probably the same as the Viper 5301 & 5701 i have, they are set to lock 60seconds after the last button press. Then use one time on the function button and then the unlock button to unlock the key pad.

Yeah, I can set it for autolock. I was just hoping there was an easier button sequence to lock and unlock the remotes. Not sure why they can't have a lock/unlock button like so many cell phones have these days. The one on the remote is not very user friendly for the customer.
I guess I will play around with the 2 pulse activation sequence on the 2 way. That way the customer won't have to worry about accidentally starting his car with his keys in his pocket.
Thanks
Shawn

I might have an answer as to why the bitwriter would not write the changes you were trying to make.  I was adding a trunk trigger to my daughters car with a Viper 5701. I had tested the alarm and had not cleared it from the memory. I could not make any changes to her 5701 with the bitwriter.  Once I started the car with the key, it cleared the zone alarm and then I could write changes to the brain. Don't know if anyone else has run inot that issue, but that is what I had on this one.

I'm having the same problem installing a Python 991 into a 2007 Escalade. I'm using a Xpresskit DLPK and I can get the rs to crank the truck neither. I get the remote start error from the 2-way remote. Is it possible it's a bad brain from the python unit?
