Ok, so what I'm doing is using the DEI 528T to wire up my headlights so that they come on when I hit the unlock button they come on for 'x' amount of seconds so that I can see out on my hunting land at night. I can't figure out how the wiring for this relay works though. Based on this image: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/uploads/357_528t_pinout.gif ...what wires need to be hooked to constant 12V, I know the BLACK/ white is the tricker for the unlock pulse, I know black is ground, and which wires need to be going straight to the headlights, and which wires just need to be left alone and cut off? I cut the blue wire and I have the relay actually triggering now, I just can't figure out why it's not supplying power to my lights. Thanks for any help.

Why not just use a DEI 545t?

We'd need to know what vehicle? I assume from your saying you cut the blue wire that you are using a pos pulse on the locks.

Check the headlight wiring (hi beam) at the switch or steering column loom if it's positive going, then brown and red are joined via a 25amp fuse to either battery or fusebox power in constant 12V+ I can't be more precise because we don't know what vehicle, then join black to ground cut that wire join the h/light side to yellow and the orange to the switch side.

If neg then brown and black to a good ground, red via a 2amp fuse to a constant 12v+, again cut the wire, yellow to the light side and orange to the switch side.
