I was wondering, I have 3-4ohm subs I waould like to connect to this amp. It's rated for 1ohm stereo or 2ohm mono operation. 3x4ohms = 1.33ohms. Would it be safe to run these on this amp? I know it's lower than the recommended load, but I also hear that these are high quality amps. Has anyone done this with this or a similiar model US Amps product?
Thanks in advance,
cyantist

I would suggest hooking it up and trying it at very low volumes first...make sure it is well ventilated...if it doesnt get too warm at low volumes, try turning it up a bit and see what happens...however, if/when it really starts to heat up, you are probably exceeding the amps limits...
these amps are great amps and they should be able to pull it off, but if they have low impedance protection you are hooped to begin with...I cant really think if they do or dont have an overload lock or not, but all you can do is try...let us know how it goes...

You could probably get away with this in theory, given that a speaker is an inductor and that impedence changes with frequency. You also have a good amp, and if you stress it you will be able to tell (It will blow a fuse, overheat, etc.) If you use common sense you shouldn't have a problem..
