Ok I am stumped. My remote start is installed and its time for the bypass to be programmed but no dice. The only thing I am noticing is that the security doesn't flash, illuminate, or respond at all when I am remote starting. It will start and run with programmed key in ignition, so it is wired correctly, I just can't get it to program the bypass. I just don't know if it is powering(security) up or not. Any thoughts before I rip it all out and grab my beretta o/u and use the units as clay pigeons?

Sure, we can help.  The forum members have used and are familiar with most every bypass module available.   Please list the brand and model of bypass you are attempting to program / use.  Also listing the brand and model of remote start would help.

My bad, damn Thunderbolt was dying so I didn't get all the info in the post that I wanted to.
Alpine 8081
Astrostart STS120
Xpresskit DLPKCHG1
So other than the new DEI bypass, everything is vintage but in great working order. The only thing I cant get done is the bypass programmed.
One other odd thing that I found was I was never able to get the auto lock feature disabled by the key on/off four times followed by the driver lock button programming. I believe I might have got that programmed to the off mode but have yet to test it. Was driving me nuts for a long time and I might have got that done successfully. Just an odd situation that I noticed.

Can you list the wire connections between the DLPKCHG1 and the Durango and Astrostart?    Also what happens during the module programming steps?

Programming is all done all options work other than the sentry key bypass. I get into programming where security light flashes, remove second key, activate remote start in diesel mode and hold transponder to ignition, but no security light or tone. I have another Xpresskit bypass coming but I don't understand why I can't get this one to program.

The Durangos from 2003 and earlier are notorious for not being able to program new keys or transponder type bypasses without the help of a Dodge dealer. An easy solution is an idatalink ads-al-ca. It is 100% data and is flawless on the Durangos. It does everything the DLPKCHG1 does, except they actually work on your vehicle.

I have had a lot of problems with that bypass mod programming. The idatalink ads-al-ca works much better! It actually works every time! Also make sure your module has the correct firmware on it. For that you have to have there programmer. Any dealer can flash the modules.

I have the loader and it does have the correct flash on it. On the Idatalink, yeah I should have tried that bypass but I stuck to the dei module because I was comfortable with them in the past. I am looking at the Idatalink at the moment though. I cant deal with this and want this completed.

As noted, programming a RF type bypass module on this vehicle can be difficult.  The Data type bypass modules are
easier and more reliable.  If you have the ADS USB cable, either the ADS AL CA or the ADS DL module will duplicate
the functions of the DLPKCHG1.  If you don't have the ADS USB cable, the ADS ALSL CH ( Solo series ) comes pre-loaded
with the correct firmware.  Either way, the iDatalink modules are excellent choices.

Ok I found an ADS-AL-CA locally and got it flashed and installed. Remote start works flawlessly but, yeah there is always a but, on disarm sometimes only the drivers door gets unlocked. Only about 40-50% does it unlock all five doors. It double pulses on lock and unlock which I am not exactly sure why but the second pulse is 3 seconds after and does not unlock the other doors. Any thoughts on this?
BTW the Idatalink was a nice solution to programming and was a piece of cake to install and program. Thanks for pushing me towards them. Seems like a better quality unit with quality copper wiring that soldered with ease.
