Well i put in a viper 5901 into an 08 CRV a while back, nearly a year ago into my uncle car. Today he calls me and says the car is starting up by it self runs for about 6mins shuts down and starts again. He put it into valet mode and it still doing the same. I told him to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery until someone can take a look at it (he is in canada). what can be causing this weird issue so late in the install.

It could be a defective remote or just a defective control module.remove battery from remote and see if problem still exists.I have experienced one like this.

I'm wondering if maybe he accidentally put the system into timer mode.
There's some kind of setting that I guess if you live up on the North Pole or something it might be useful---it starts the car every once in a while to keep it from getting too cold.
For most of us, this "feature" just makes for lots of trouble. They should have made it something that you'd have to program in the menu before you can use it.
Anyway, get out the owner's manual, try to figure out how timer mode works, and see if maybe he has it turned on somehow.
