I have a quick question, I made that adapter kit(see below) for my car(I know it is not on perfect, but it is an old picture and has a nice fit to it now. My question is, Should I sound deaden behind it, and then screw in the adapter kit, or should I just the sound deadener around it? Also should should I sound deaden the actual plastic door panel too, or just the door? Thanks inadvance

Laying down sound deadening material doesn't hurt anything, unless you deaden the actual speaker itself, in which case you need therapy. I put Dynamat on my plastic door panels as well as the sheet metal, and I don't know if it's helping, but it's certainly not hurting anything. (Except my bankbook)

Yeah, that is what I figured, but I wasn't sure actually how much it does help. I guess I will just sound deaden the actual door first and see how it sounds. Then after that I will see how much more I need.

I did an install recently and I put the Dynamat both on the inner wall of the door (so when you hit the door from outside the car, it doesn't sound like hollow sheet metal anymore) and I put it on the inner door metal surface (the metal you see when you take of the plastic door panel). It seems now that the speaker as more of an "enclosure" and doesn't resonate the door anymore when cranked up, so I guess the stuff is doing it's job. The trunk is a different story though...
