Hi can anyone tell me if it is possible to remote start a car and drive it as normal without having the key in the ignition.  I have a commando fm-760 car alarm

thanks.

If you install it correctly, no, you can't drive it without the key. When you hit the brake to change the gear, the car will shut off from hitting the brake. In the case where you can change the gear without stepping on the brake, I believe the steering wheel will lock.

If you were to get by the brake , some remote starters will also shut off when it notices an increase in tach signal (higher reving engine).

....and if you could get around the tach problem, you then have to figure out how to unlock the steering wheel, then the engine will only run for a short programmed amount of time.
