Which HU would you choose? A JVC KD-LH3150 for $430, a 2002 Alpine CDA-7894 for $389 (cost) or a 2002 Alpine CDA-7998 for $490 (cost)?
The JVC has nifty graphics and animations so I am kind of leaning towards that but I know the Alpines will kill the JVC in terms of sound quality with their "MediaXpander" and V-drive 27Wx4 output... Geez... snazzy graphics or snazzy sound... JVC 3150, Alpine 7894 or 7998? - Last Post -- posted image.
This will be going into a '97 Acura Integra Type R with stock speakers to be upgraded later. (Type R components maybe? JVC 3150, Alpine 7894 or 7998? - Last Post -- posted image.)

One thing to think about is that the JVC and its snazzy graphics will look tight for a while but eventually they'll get boring and redundant.  Although if your goal is to impress passengers and stuff then  that's another story.  But ummm...the alpine's sound quality will always keep you happy and it's something that you'll always be able to tell the difference in.  And having great sound will never get old, that's for sure.JVC 3150, Alpine 7894 or 7998? - Last Post -- posted image.

if you are not set on these three head units, then you could go with the PioneerDEH-P6500. i have this unit in my truck and it had amazing graphics as well as great sound quality. it also had many soundshaping features that allow you to customize how your different speakers sound.

also, i believe most JVC units feature a low rated output power. the alpine had a very high power rating for a head unbit, but the pioneer has power in between (25x4rms, 50x4max). in my opinion it is a great unit and it is not near as much money as the other three (about $240 on the internet)
