Hello all,

Does anyone know how to wire the Viper 550 ESP to shut down the Remote Start process whenever the alarm gets triggered, ie. shock sensor, opening the door while armed etc?  Install manual indicates the Remote Start can be shut down whenever the engine hood is open, brake pedal is pushed or when rpm is too high.

Is it possible to use the positive constant siren output and connect it to a normally close relay on the neutral safety wire?  or would disarming or arming alarm chirps cause the Remote Start process to shut down?

thanks!

The alarm ignores the shock sensor while the engine is running---unless the car's engine is a really smooth one, the trembling upon engine startup would trigger the alarm otherwise.

You could probably disable the alarm's arm/disarm chirps, and then tie the alarm's siren output into its brake wire input.  Use a diode so the siren won't go off every time you step on the brake.

Why do you need to do this?  If you're worried about your car getting stolen, remember that the thief still has to defeat the steering and shifter locks, and he usually does this by compromising the igniton switch--which means he can easily crank and start the car anyway---a car that's running under remote start isn't much easier to steal than one that isn't.
