I have installed maybe 10 of these audiovox systems. All have gone well and required a min of time and effort. I am now trying to install the system on a 2007 Triumph 1050 Tiger and this is my first experience with fuel injection. I have no "Tach" sig and no VSS sig that I know of. I installed this system a year ago and have yet to get it to function. On the Tr forum there were members that had used the AV system with success. There is just no way to install the magnets so I need an electrical solution. One highly respected member advised that I should connect the tach sig on the AV to the "hi side" of any ignition coil. I have three and each cylinder/plug gets its own ignition signal to it's coil. That member said "the factory says to connect the tach signal to the low side of the coil but that didn't work for me and I used the hi side for complete functionality". Sounded iffy to me but he was reliable in all to that point. Does this sound right to this forum?
I later learned that I was supposed to add a diode in the brake-on line. Symptom was "total non function of the cruise". The diode was what appeared to be a latch to ground and had a resistor also added. Does this mean anything to anyone here?
Thank you.

If it doesn't have a cable-driven speedometer, it is getting VSS from somewhere. I have zero experience with the Triumph (had to google it), but on  Harley, the VSS is on the top of the transmission, and senses an internal toothed wheel on the output shaft. Perhaps the Triumph is similar. I would think there has to be a VSS at the speedo head if it is not cable driven. And if it IS mechanical, perhaps a add-on VSS sensor in the cable is a possibility?
