I have a JVC KDSX990 in my 97 Sebring Convertible, it has
RMS 19x4
Peak 50x4
I am looking for buy 2 pairs of 6x9" which my car needs.
And i hope to get it from Circuit City. I checked their website and found some of this speakers:
Kenwood KFC6969IE
Alpine SPS690A
Pioneer TSA6970R
Polk EX369
Infinity Reference 9603I
I am considering the Alpine Type-S, are they any good? I want the best bang for my bucks!
I donot need bass as i have 2 10" subs. I need clarity and loudness and very little distortion. And i am using my HU to power them, unless i have to buy an amp!
I wish to spend $100 for each pair. Any advice appreciated, thanks.

The real competition is between the Kenwoods Alpines and Infinities.  I vote for Alpine but highly reccomend you just go to Circuit City and just listen to them for a while.  Bring your own CD in and, if possible, put it in your HU if they have it on display.  Turn the volume up and mess with the equalizer settings, test them as much as possible.

Have fun.

i'll do that, thanks. Which brand have a reputation for less bass, but louder and crispier of everything else? And of course quality wise! :)
For example is bigger the better? For the size of the tweeter and the magnet? I'm all confused cos there is do many factors, including the material that the cone or tweeter is made of!!   Is there a huge diff in the 3, 4 or 5 way speakers?
