Dear All,
As we know in Form C type relay we have both NC and NO contact switch.
I'm looking for a specific information as follow;
i) why NC contact smaller profile (area and thickness) compare to NO contact?
From the datasheet, NC and NO loads rated very different (inductive and resistive). NC-contact rated for lower loads while NO-contact rated for higher loads.
No standard mentioning on this loads differences in details (as far as i know).
Thank You,
Regards,
Jev

I read somewhere (probably on here) that the load rating difference is because the N.O. contacts are held together "tighter" by the coil. The N.C. contacts are only held together by spring tension, which is less. Hence the lower current rating for the N.C. Contacts.
