Power to my Boot!

Can I get power to the boot of my '98 Escort Finess UK  for an amplifier using my existing loom or do i have to install a new cable.

Any help would be most welcome!!!

what is your existing loom?

Most people will buy a wiring kit for the amp.  This includes everything you need.  First is a set of rca cables, which carry the unamplified sound signal to your amp from your head unite.  Then there is a remote wire, which conects to your head unit and tells the amp when to turn on or off.  Most importantly, there are 4 or 8 guage wires to connect to your battery and ground.  I bought mine at WalMart for $25, but I don't think they have WalMarts in England so just look around online.

Sorry I meant from the cars loom, so that I don't have to drill holes etc....

I believe you're refering to the cars existing electrical harness? Queen's english vs. American! It's always best to run new power wire(s) from the battery to your aftermarket amp(s). Most factories don't use 8+ gauge in their wiring harnesses, and if you just tapped into an existing hot wire you wouldn't pull the juice that you need to properly run the amp.
Best suggestion if you don't want to drill or go to a shop is to look in the engine compartment for the location of the Factory pass-through (where they ran the wires through the firewall). A lot of times you can squeeze more wire through that existing gromlet without much hassle.

Yeah I don't speak English I speak American.  The difference we sound like a bunch of morons on our side of the pond.  Funny...

In my case, I could not find room on my firewall to drill through, and I have no idea where the factory hole is.  My car has thick paneling, though, which afforded me another option.  I ran the wire back to the corner of the hood, about where it meets the windshield, then dropped it down in the gap where the front door is hinged.  From there I could feed it straight under the door panels to the back seat, under the seat then behind it, over the firewall between passenger compartment and trunk, and voila - power to my boot.
Pardon me, I'm drawing a blank.  Is your escort a hatchback?

Have been told there is a rubber plug in the wheel arch that goes into the footwell. I can stick a hole thru that to get a power feed into the passenger area!!!
