Alarm Door Triggers

Hi, I hope this all make sense. I’m trying to set up my door triggers on my alarm. I have the normal (-) door trigger which shows 12volts then goes to 0 volts when doors are open. I also want to tie in my door locks sensors which is a simple wire with no voltage and the way it triggers is just by touching that wire to a ground wire. If I use diodes will the 12 volts cause an issue to the alarm when the door locks sensor triggers. Just what happens to that 12 volts that the alarm will see when the door locks are trigger? I wanted to tie the door locks in that way if a door actuator fails the alarm will tell me a door is still open.

what car are you trying to do this on? does your car already show door open if unlocked and door closed? does the door lock actuator show voltage in the unlock or locked position?

It’s an 86 Mazda rx7. The lock itself that you pull up and down to lock has a simple switch that just grounds a bare wire to the cars chassis. Similar to the generic one wire hood switch that comes in an aftermarket alarm. I’m just wondering will it still trigger when connecting them to the door triggers with a diodes. I’m just worried I will have problems because the door triggers work 12 volts closed then grounded when open. Where as the door lock work 0volts doors closed and grounded to chassis when doors open.

Does it have power locks controlled by the alarm? If not you'll never be able to arm the alarm if you leave the door unlocked. Tying in to the door lock sensor is redundant because after unlocking a door the next thing one needs to do is open the door.

Yes I installed door actuators myself.
