Hi All,
I have a VIPER 5904 and I suspect the dome light supervision output wire is not working as it cannot activate a relay
My vehicle is a 1991 Toyota Land cruiser
Is there any way to test for -200mA output?
The wire in question is
H2/7 BLACK/YELLOW (-) 200mA DOME LIGHT SUPERVISION OUTPUT
I have it hooked up to relay as follows
PIN 85 to +12V Fused
PIN 86 to Black/Yellow (H2/7 BLACK/YELLOW (-) 200mA DOME LIGHT SUPERVISION OUTPUT)
PIN 87 -DOOR TRIGGER WIRE
PIN 30 Ground to chassis
as far as I understand if I press unlock the dome light supervision should send a Negative trigger on pin 85 (black/yellow) and then the relay should energize and should hear a click making the switch connection to 87 and 30 turning the lights on.
but the relay does not click I have tried another relay and no change.

Ok I suspect a failure on the H2/7 BLACK/YELLOW (-) 200mA DOME LIGHT SUPERVISION OUTPUT
I have tested useing a DMM
DMM set to 20V
DMM Black Test Lead to -Dome Light supervision output wire
DMM Red Test lead to 12V source
I press the Unlock and I see no change on (H2/7 BLACK/YELLOW (-) 200mA DOME LIGHT SUPERVISION OUTPUT) I believe I should see it change from 0 volts to 12V
I have another question about diodes.
Do I need to diode isolate both wires on 86 and 87 and which way does the diode stripe face?
PIN 86 to Black/Yellow (H2/7 BLACK/YELLOW (-) 200mA DOME LIGHT SUPERVISION OUTPUT) Diode stripe facing towards alarm?
PIN 87 -DOOR TRIGGER WIRE - Diode stripe facing away alarm?
