Hi, I'm installing a Compustar CMX remote start kit using data method but wasn't sure if a Starter Kill relay still need to be installed like the hardwire method (cut starter wire)?
Thank you

Quick question : Regular key ignition or Push To Start vehicle?

By "Data" I'm guessing that you are using a Blade AL cartridge flashed with the TL-9 firmware and following the Type 1 install wiring as shown in the Doc #82279 Install Guide.
First you will need the High Power 8 Pin CM-X harness. Your Camry has high current IGN1 and Starter1 wires at the ignition switch.
The Starter Kill / Anti-Grind feature is an option. If added during the install, the Anti-Grind would prevent starter grind during R/S key takeover if you rotated the key too far - into the START area. The Starter Kill function would prevent the vehicle from cranking the starter if the CM-X system was Locked and Armed. As mentioned, this is an optional feature. You would use a relay that interrupted the Starter1 wire. The relay would be controlled by the CX-X's GWA output. There are some programming options for the GWA output. See Menu 3-4 for more info.
