Wsup Guys,

Im a newbie here. I am loving everything about this site.

I am getting ready to install a PS2 and an Alpine IVA-C801 In my brother 03 tahoe. It has bose. Do i just connect the RCAs from the PS2 to the Inputs in the brain.

Also, I know that i have to use a power inverter for the PS2. Which ones should i use. Usually, how many amps would run a PS2 comfotably.

Last question, i think the tahoe has a factory amp. I am not ready to change the component speakers yet. How can i connect the Iva-C801 to the stock speakers. I think it has 8 and the speaker out on the alpine has 4.

Not much information out on the 2003 Tahoe as far as interface harnesses go except that if your brother's Tahoe has On-Star , you will loose the speaker capabilities of this if you do not get the bypass harness for the replacemement of the OEM stereo. Also, you may loose other functions that the OEM stereo uses such as :

Vehicle Customization Menu Options:
( Most Cavaliers, Sunfires and other base models do not offer most, if any of these features.
Check the vehicle owner’s manual to see available features. )
Displays current settings
Oil life monitor reset
Tire inflation monitor reset
Delayed headlamp illumination
Automatic door lock and unlock
Remote visual/audible verification of remote lock/unlock
Enable/Disable content theft
Enable/Disable trunk lock shock sensor
Short or long horn with remote lock/unlock
Key fob transmitter programming

You will also need to locate a "switched" wire as there isn't one behind the radio, also I would recommend at least a 100 watt power invertor wired directly to the vehicle battery, the PS 2 and X Box pull a lot of juice, you will also have to make a bypass switch to view a video source while the vehicle is in motion. You will also need to bypass the factory amp and wire the speakers directly to the radio. Also keep in mind there may be a 6 in subwoofer in the front of the center console. If you don't have much experience in installing I would highly reccomend having a reputable shop do the install, there are a lot of things that could go wrong in the new GM class 2 platform vehicles.

I've heard that the PS2 is very sensitive to road vibrations and can be damaged easily. Have you had any problems?

I have my PS2 under my seat and it doesn't skip or anything when I go over bumps. Works perfectly fine.

PS2 Handles the road much better than PS1 did. I don't permanately mount my own game systems, so they just get wedged under the pass. seat. PS2 is very good. With my new AVH-P7500DVD I'm going to bring the systems back into my car. XBOX will get the first test this week.

Like I said I don't keep the systems in, they only get used on trips. I use a 115W plug in inverter. Never had a problem.

get a least a 200 watt one and don't just hook it up to the battery so it is always on. Use a relay on the same switched wire for the iva c801. Also I had problems sometimes with the iva products using alot of power because the brain and the monitor require to have both battery and switched power so I used a relay for both of them so I would not have a power problem. Just hook up the coil to the switched power and then the 87 pin the the battery and the 30 pin goes to the monitor or brain
