Whats up everyone?  I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about selling my 2 15" Kicker XPLs and getting a nice pair of 10"s or 12"s (possibly 3).  The thing is, I really like the sq and spl of the XPLs but I am an audio enthusiast and am always wanting something new.  I am using an MTX 81000d (729 rms @ 4ohms, 1225 rms @ 2 ohms) which gives me a lot of flexibility.

Another thing I have to think about is getting the motivation to build a new box for 12"s or 10"s.  I have built many boxes for myself and friends and it is the least fun part to me.

If anyone has some good suggestions on a new look for me let me know.

thanks

I've always liked the four 10's  setups i have heard. They really seem to pound and being ten's they have the real tight bass that on certain notes just give you the chills...Change Subs or Stay -- posted image.

The easiest and most cost effective way to change your sound would be to change your box, if you have room to, that is. Go to home depot and let the guys there cut the wood for you....it helps a lot.  Trust me I know what you mean about box building not being fun.  Also, find ways to mix things up from the norm.  Everyone has a plain ole grey carpeted box, so go and find a new color or material to work w/.  I made a friend a box out of black carpet with a thin red mesh laid over it that looked black straight on, but sort of flip flopped to red at an angle.  I've used formica countertop as well as vinyl, paint to match the car, even one w/ synthetic leather.  Throw some neons in a ported box if you want.  Just think if you switch to new subs you're going to have to build a new box anyway.  Good luck!
