I have 2 kicker cvr 15's and a JBL 1200.1 amp. I have 2 pioneer 3 way speakers in a box in the rear. I also have a dhd 500 watt 2 channel amp. My question is what kind of cross over do I need to put the small dhd amp on my 6x9's, or do i need a cross over at all.

just kill a few birds with one stone and get a three-way crossover. it can never hurt to add stuff like this to your system because it increases the amount of control you have over your components, and allows you to further custom-tailor the sound of your vehicle to your personal taste.
