From what i can see it is rated at 1x500rms at 4ohms and 1x1000rms at 2ohms. There doesn't seem to be any stats to suggest that it is 1 ohm stable.

Yea nedgeworth is correct--the 1000bd is only stable down to 2 ohms.

That's right, only goes down to 2ohms. RF doesn't make a 1ohm stable amp (at least any that I've heard of).
People have claimed that they have run the 1000bd's at 1ohm and only experienced "minor" problems with the amp shutting down or clipping at higher volumes, but I still wouldn't recommend it. I'm running my 1000bd at 2ohms and it's running great, no problems at all.

Have you thought of a Planet Audio P1250d?  They are about as powerful as the bd1000 but are 1-ohm stable.  They are on clearance on a coupe of sites for about $250 new.
