I cannot seem to find the damn tach wire on my 2000 tahoe. I have installed a viper 550hf, but the starter just keeps on cranking. I have taught the 550 the tach wire (by using the dip switches in the alarm brain), but after trying several wires no luck. HELP!!

Tach Signal WHITE AT ENGIN HARNESS INLINE TO I/P

* Located Under Drivers Dash In Pin E8 At Bottom Right Of The Connector

I have a 2000 Suburban and found my Tach Wire behind the instrument cluster. It was a white wire. Good luck

TACHOMETER|white *5 | |ECM *3

*3 ECM is located near the battery, down low, between the fender and the fan under the black plastic cover. On the 4.3L, the tach wire is at pin 20 in the connector labeled 'red', and VSS wire is at pin 3 in the connector labeled 'black'. On the 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L, the tach wire is located at pin 10 in the 'red' connector, and VSS wire is located in pin 50 of the 'red' connector.

grab your tach @ one of the fuel injectors.....i only had a problem with that one time and that was in and 98 impalla and i had to set the crank time for an extra second.....

If you are setting your crank time you are not using the tach feature on the remote start. The tach feature is designed to crank the vehicle untill the unit registers an RPM reading. Crank time is used in voltage sensing operations
