I looked at a couple of other posts and they suggested to get trunk releases to open the door with. My question is they said to use 35lb soleniods and door poppers where is a good place to get these at? Is there any certain brand to look for?

I built my own solenoids. I checked out a friends high dollar 35 lb unit and they strongly resembled starter solenoids. This setup has worked flawlessly for over a year. This setup cost me less than 25.00 to do both doors.

Don't use trunk pop sol. They don't pull enough to pop a door on most cars. Look around and you can probably find 35 lb sol for $20-$25.

Ive used trunk pop solenoids on an 82 buick regal (huge heavy doors) and it turned out fine. No problems whatsoever. You can get trunk pop solenoids for around 12 to 17 bucks. The 35lb larger solenoids are usually around 30 to 50 a piece. I've used the 35lb soleniods on an 88 cutlass classic(basically the same car as the regal) And these solenoids performed no better than the ones on the regal. Personally, I think if the 15lb trunk pop solenoids will work on yer doors, than go for it. If not, you'll have to upgrade to the 35lb versions. I'd say buy one trunk pop solenoid to see if you can get it to work. If it does, buy another fer the other door. If it doesnt, buy the 35lb ones and use the trunk pop on yer trunk.
